Day-by-Day Itinerary
Pickup from Haridwar → Guptkashi (~270 km | ~8–9 hrs)
Early morning pickup from Haridwar Railway Station / Bus Stand and drive towards Guptkashi, the base camp for Kedarnath Dham. The route passes through the scenic towns of Rishikesh, Devprayag, and Rudraprayag — one of the Panch Prayags where the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers meet. Upon arrival at Guptkashi, check in at the hotel. Visit the Vishwanath Temple and Ardhnareshwar Temple before retiring for the night.
Guptkashi → Sonprayag → Kedarnath Trek (~30 km drive + 16 km trek)
Early morning drive from Guptkashi to Sonprayag, and then a shared jeep to Gaurikund — the starting point of the Kedarnath trek. Begin the approximately 16 km trek through the scenic Mandakini valley leading to Kedarnath Dham situated at an altitude of 3,583 metres. Seek the divine blessings of Lord Shiva at the ancient Kedarnath Temple — one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and one of the holiest pilgrimage sites in India. Overnight stay at Kedarnath or Gaurikund.
Kedarnath → Return to Guptkashi (~16 km trek + 30 km drive)
Early morning attend the Kedarnath Temple morning aarti in the serene Himalayan setting. After the aarti and completing the darshan, begin the trek back to Gaurikund. Take a shared jeep from Gaurikund to Sonprayag and then the cab to Guptkashi. Optional enroute stop at Chopta — a scenic Himalayan hamlet offering stunning views of snow-capped peaks and the base for the Tungnath trek (weather permitting). Overnight stay at Guptkashi.
Guptkashi → Pipalkoti (~95 km | ~3.5–4 hrs)
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive towards Pipalkoti via Joshimath — the gateway to Badrinath Dham. En route enjoy the beautiful mountain landscapes and optional stop at Joshimath for the ancient Narasimha Temple. Continue to Pipalkoti — a comfortable base town for the Badrinath Dham visit. Check in at the hotel and relax for the evening.
Pipalkoti → Badrinath Darshan → Pipalkoti (~100 km round trip | ~6–7 hrs)
Early morning drive from Pipalkoti to Badrinath Dham situated at an altitude of 3,133 metres on the banks of the Alaknanda River. Seek the divine blessings of Lord Vishnu at the sacred Badrinath Temple — one of the Char Dhams and Divya Desams. Take a holy dip in the Tapt Kund hot spring. Visit the nearby Mana Village — the last Indian village before the Indo-Tibetan border — and explore Vyas Gufa and Bhim Pul. After completing the darshan, drive back to Pipalkoti for overnight stay.
Pipalkoti → Haridwar Drop (~270 km | ~8–9 hrs)
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin the drive back to Haridwar. The route passes through Rudraprayag, Devprayag — the sacred confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers forming the Ganga — and Rishikesh. Optional stop at Rishikesh for a quick darshan at the Triveni Ghat or Ram Jhula. Drop at Haridwar Railway Station / Bus Stand with divine blessings and beautiful memories of the Do Dham Yatra.
