Day-by-Day Itinerary
Pickup from Delhi → Haridwar (~250 km | ~5–6 hrs)
Early morning pickup from Indira Gandhi International Airport / New Delhi Railway Station and drive towards Haridwar — one of the seven sacred cities of India. Upon arrival in Haridwar, check in at the hotel. In the evening witness the famous Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri — a mesmerizing spiritual experience on the banks of the holy Ganga. You may also visit the Mansa Devi Temple and Chandi Devi Temple by ropeway.
Haridwar → Rishikesh Sightseeing → Barkot (~180 km | ~5–6 hrs)
After breakfast, visit the spiritual town of Rishikesh — the Yoga Capital of the World — located just 25 km from Haridwar. Explore the famous ashrams, temples, and suspension bridges of Rishikesh. Continue the drive towards Barkot — the base camp for Yamunotri Dham — passing through the scenic Yamuna valley. Upon arrival at Barkot, check in at the hotel and prepare for the Yamunotri darshan the next day.
Barkot → Yamunotri Darshan → Barkot (~50 km drive + 6 km trek)
Early morning drive from Barkot to Janki Chatti, the starting point of the Yamunotri trek. Begin the approximately 6 km trek through scenic Himalayan trails to reach Yamunotri Dham — the source of the sacred Yamuna River. Seek the blessings of Maa Yamuna at the Yamunotri Temple, take a dip in the holy Surya Kund hot spring, and experience the tradition of cooking rice in the natural hot water spring. After completing the darshan, trek back to Janki Chatti and drive back to Barkot for overnight stay.
Barkot → Uttarkashi (~100 km | ~3.5–4 hrs)
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive towards Uttarkashi — the base camp for Gangotri Dham. The route follows the scenic Bhagirathi River valley through dense forests and dramatic mountain landscapes. Uttarkashi is a prominent pilgrimage town on the banks of the Bhagirathi River known for its ancient Vishwanath Temple. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and visit the Vishwanath Temple in the evening.
Uttarkashi → Gangotri Darshan → Uttarkashi (~200 km round trip | ~8–9 hrs)
Early morning drive from Uttarkashi towards Gangotri Dham situated at an altitude of 3,048 metres along the banks of the Bhagirathi River. En route pass through the Harsil Valley known for its stunning natural beauty and apple orchards. Seek the blessings of Maa Ganga at the Gangotri Temple and take a holy dip in the icy Bhagirathi River. After completing the darshan, drive back to Uttarkashi for overnight stay.
Uttarkashi → Guptkashi (~220 km | ~8–9 hrs)
After breakfast, check out and begin the long scenic drive towards Guptkashi — the base camp for Kedarnath Dham. The route passes through Tehri, Srinagar (Garhwal), and Rudraprayag — one of the five Panch Prayags. Upon arrival at Guptkashi, check in at the hotel. Visit the ancient Vishwanath Temple and Ardhnareshwar Temple before retiring for the night.
Guptkashi → Sonprayag → Kedarnath Trek (~30 km drive + 16 km trek)
Early morning drive from Guptkashi to Sonprayag, and then a shared jeep to Gaurikund — the starting point of the Kedarnath trek. Begin the approximately 16 km trek through the beautiful Mandakini valley to Kedarnath Dham at 3,583 metres. Seek the divine blessings of Lord Shiva at the ancient Kedarnath Temple — one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. Overnight stay at Kedarnath or Gaurikund.
Kedarnath → Return to Guptkashi (~16 km trek + 30 km drive)
Early morning attend the Kedarnath Temple morning aarti. After the aarti and completing the darshan, begin the trek back to Gaurikund. Take a shared jeep to Sonprayag and then the cab to Guptkashi. Optional stop at Chopta — the gateway to Tungnath Temple (weather permitting). Overnight stay at Guptkashi.
Guptkashi → Pipalkoti (~95 km | ~3.5–4 hrs)
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive towards Pipalkoti via Joshimath. En route visit the Narasimha Temple at Joshimath — one of the four mathas established by Adi Shankaracharya. Joshimath also serves as the winter seat of Badrinath Temple. Continue to Pipalkoti, a comfortable base town for the Badrinath Dham visit. Check in and relax.
Pipalkoti → Badrinath Darshan → Pipalkoti (~100 km round trip | ~6–7 hrs)
Early morning drive from Pipalkoti to Badrinath Dham at 3,133 metres on the banks of the Alaknanda River. Seek the blessings of Lord Vishnu at the sacred Badrinath Temple. Take a holy dip in the Tapt Kund hot spring. Visit Mana Village — the last Indian village before the Indo-Tibetan border — explore Vyas Gufa and Bhim Pul. After darshan, drive back to Pipalkoti for overnight stay.
Pipalkoti → Haridwar / Rishikesh (~270 km | ~8–9 hrs)
After breakfast, check out and drive back towards Haridwar. En route stop at Devprayag — the sacred confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers forming the Ganga. Visit Rishikesh for an optional darshan at Triveni Ghat and Ram Jhula. Continue to Haridwar and check in at the hotel. In the evening attend the Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri for a final spiritual send-off.
Haridwar → Delhi Drop (~250 km | ~5–6 hrs)
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin the drive back to Delhi. The route passes through Roorkee and the National Highway. Drop at Indira Gandhi International Airport / New Delhi Railway Station with divine blessings and beautiful memories of the Complete Char Dham Yatra from Delhi.
